The methodology adopted was applied and exploratory research with a qualitative approach, using the action research method to promote a theoretically grounded practical intervention. The implementation process involved sequential stages that included a complete survey of the factory's assets, systematic registration of assets in the maintenance management software, implementation of a QR code tagging system, development of standardized inspection checklists for the elaboration of preventive maintenance plans based on technical recommendations and operational experience, and optimized scheduling of preventive maintenance activities. As a result, the MPC implementation promoted improvements in operational indicators, with a significant reduction in unscheduled downtime and mean time to repair. The work's conclusion shows that, despite the positive results, the implementation faced challenges such as the absence of technical documentation for equipment, cultural resistance to changing from a reactive to a proactive mindset, and the need for top management support to consolidate maintenance as a strategic function.
