A comprehensive dataset collected in “Dry to Wet 2002” campaign of Large Scale Biosphere-Atmosphere Experiment in Amazônia (LBA) was used. A typical diurnal cycle with maximum rainfall during mid to late afternoon and sporadic nocturnal rainfall events were observed. Unlike the dry season, the transition season does not present intensive chill events; however, it was observed that meteorological large scale systems and biomass burning activities modulate the diurnal cycle of the variables.
