In light of this, the World Health Organization recommended the implementation of social isolation measures in order to slow the spread of the disease. In this context, in order to supply the activities to conclude the school year, the Higher Education Institutions had to adapt the teaching format and the class schedule, resulting in the migration from face-to-face teaching to the Emergency Remote Teaching modality. Based on the information presented, it is assumed that students may be affected in their formative process. Thus, this study aims to analyze the perception of students of the undergraduate course in Collective Health at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte about the modality of remote teaching in the context of Covid-19. It is, therefore, an exploratory-analytical research with a quantitative and qualitative approach that occurred from January to June 2022. The subjects for this research were 44 students from the Collective Health course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte who experienced remote teaching and were actively enrolled in the course. The qualitative analysis about the remote teaching modality was organized into three categories: negative points, positive points, and implications of remote teaching on learning. With this new pedagogy using digital media, therefore, it was even more prone to inequities, since one of the most raised challenges in this study were the issues of limited access regarding internet and electronic equipment. On the other hand, geographical access, commuting to college, and the convenience of being at home were favorable. Therefore, more studies are needed to evaluate this type of education.
