The net-tank farming system has become one of the most used in intensive fish farming in the country as it has proven to be a suitable technique for more sustainable production, providing high productivity through high densities. The study's general objective is to evaluate the effect of feeding management strategies, which include periods of food restriction and refeeding, on the productive performance of tambaquis raised in cages. Specifically, identify the best feeding frequency and feeding schedule for the productive performance of Colossoma macropomum juveniles and analyze the effect of feeding frequency on the performance of C. macropomum juveniles. This is an integrative review of the literature in the SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library On Line) and Google Scholar databases. To search for articles in the databases, we used the controlled descriptors: Performance AND Tambaquis AND Food Restriction AND Refeeding AND Net Tanks. It was found that adequate management from site selection, acquisition of quality fry, carrying out subculture, water quality, adequate feeding and preventive health management provides excellent zootechnical performance with standardization in batches, reduced breeding time and productive success.
