Avaliação da efetividade da fisioterapia do assoalho pélvico na função sexual de mulheres no puerpério. 2020. 91f. Tese (Doutorado em Ciências da Saúde) - Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2020.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/31490The objective of the study was to evaluate the possibility of an increase in the sexual function of puerperal women after a training program in the postpartum of the pelvic floor (PF) musculature, as well as to evaluate the clinical evolution of the pelvic floor muscle function after a training program in postpartum non-pharmacological interventions’ effectiveness of in the treatment of sexual dysfunction in puerperal women. Pilot study with intervention conducted between July and December 2019, in which data were collected from 28 women living together in a Maternity School, which were divided into normal delivery and cesarean delivery. Sexual function was assessed using the Female Sexual Function Index. The International Consultation Questionnaire on Incontinence - Short Form was used to assess Urinary Incontinence and to qualify urinary loss. The intervention consisted of a muscle training exercise program in PF. ANOVA tests were used to establish differences between groups. There was an improvement in all results, but there was no time versus group interaction. There was an improvement in sexual function (p <0.001), impact of urinary incontinence on quality of life (p <0.001) and pressure on the muscles of the PF muscles (p <0.001) over time. There was no time versus group interaction for sexual function (p = 0.87), impact of urinary incontinence on quality of life (p = 0.88) and pressure on the PF muscles (p = 0.66). In conclusion, exercise programs for the PF muscles seem to be a very promising strategy with regard to improving sexual activity in puerperal women.Acesso AbertoComportamento sexualPós-PartoParto obstétricoFisioterapiaSexualidadeIncontinência urináriaAvaliação da efetividade da fisioterapia do assoalho pélvico na função sexual de mulheres no puerpériodoctoralThesis
