Parelhas has a strong tourist potential, as it has a wealth of attractions, with latency to develop. Surrounded by the imposing Serra das Queimadas, which is the stage for trails carried out by JEEPS, Parelhas was the setting chosen for the recording of the film “Bacurau”, recorded in the Community of Barra, rural area of ​​the municipality, in 2019. inserted in the Seridó Geopark project proposal and has two geosites: The Mirador geosite and the Boqueirão Dam geosite, both registered in the register of Archaeological Sites of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN). This scenario aroused the interest to deepen and learn more about the potential of the municipality, aiming to collaborate with the improvement of the local tourist activity. For this, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) created the tourism offer inventory, 2022 edition, carried out with the adoption of a methodology developed by researchers (teachers and students) from the Laboratory of Research and Tourism Studies (LAPET). The technical work was carried out with human capital, composed of professors and students of the Tourism Course at FELCS/UFRN. The Tourism Inventory is the first activity in the field of tourism and regional development that helps local public management and entrepreneurs based on the information and data collected in the planning process of municipal tourism activities.
