Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Ciências e Tecnologia) - Escola de Ciência e Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/54095With the significant advancement of technology, one of the fastest growing sectors is the production of electronic equipment. However, this growth has generated negative impacts due to the inadequate disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). In Brazil, the management and final destination of computers and peripherals as waste are still poorly studied, as well as their influence on the circular economy. In this context, the present study aims to analyze the disposal of WEEE in the city of Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte, Northeast Brazil, as well as to investigate how this waste is managed and handled until its final destination, taking into account the analysis of current legislation. To achieve these goals, surveys and data collection were carried out, including interviews and questionnaires directed at companies responsible for WEEE management. These approaches aim to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the entire process, from the initial collection to the final destination of computers and peripherals discarded by the population in the city of Natal. The research carried out allowed the identification of practices adopted by the companies responsible for the management of electronic waste, as well as the analysis of the challenges faced throughout this process. In addition, the study highlighted positive aspects related to the application of circular economy principles in the municipality. In this way, this research contributes significantly to the knowledge about WEEE management in the context of institutions in Natal, demonstrating that proper management of electronic waste can boost business opportunities, such as the recovery of valuable materials and the implementation of circular economy strategies. in the electronics industry chain. By understanding how these practices can be adopted by companies, the research highlights the importance of a sustainable and conscious approach in this field, not only to protect the environment, but also to take advantage of economic advantages and promote technological innovation.Equipamentos eletroeletrônicosGestão de resíduosAcordo setorialNegócios tecnológicosLogística reversaElectronic equipmentWaste managementSector agreementTech businessReverse logisticResíduos eletroeletrônicos de computadores e periféricos: mapeamento e análise da gestão no município de Natal-RNElectro-electronic waste from computers and peripherals: mapping and management analysis in the municipality of Natal-RNbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA
