Análise da expressão gênica de células pulmonares expostas à fumaça de cigarro. 2019. 32f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Biomedicina) - Centro de Biociências. Consequently, the response of these cells to cigarette smoke is of considerable interest since it is an important etiological factor for several diseases, such as lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This work utilized the DataSet GSE30660, available on the NCBI platform to analyze the gene expression of lung cells exposed to cigarette smoke, using the transcriptogramer package, which allowed the identification of 4 groups of differentially expressed genes: 3 of them up regulated (more expressed) and 1 down regulated group (less expressed). Among the most expressed gene groups, the pathways most related to the metabolism of xenobiotics, glucuronidation process, ubiquitin-dependent catabolic process, repair pathways and checkpoint were the ones that stood out, while in the group of less expressed genes, and the related pathways to cell death and immune response were the most evidenced. By means of these results it is possible to conclude that, as studies have shown previously, cigarette smoke is an important agent that induces damages.
