Dissertação (Mestrado em Educação Física) - Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2020.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/30617The aim of this study was to examine the relationships between motor coordination and cognitive and physical components of agility in young soccer players. 87 pubertal boyswere analyzed(14.17 ± 1.10 years; body mass 55.79 ± 9.64 kg; height 1.64 ± 0.09 m). Anthropometric measurements were used to determine the maturity offset, while physical qualities including agility, change of direction speed (CODS) and motor coordination. The following variables were obtained from these tests: motor coordination score, perception time and decision-making, movement response time, agility time and CODS time. Motor coordination revealed a trivial non-significant correlation with perception time and decision-making(r = -0.10, p = 0.34). However, moderate to high negative correlations were observed between motor coordination andCODS (r = -0.47, p < 0.01), agility time (r = -0.52, p < 0.01) and movement response time (r = -0.62, p < 0.01).In addition, regression analysis showed that each increase in motor coordination score was associated with significant decreases in agility time (-0.023), movement response time (-0.021) and CODStime(-0.021) independent of maturity offset. In conclusion, these findings indicated that motor coordination was significantly related to the physical components of agility in young soccer playersAcesso AbertoAtividade físicaDesempenho motorTempo de resposta do movimentoAdolescentesVelocidade de mudança de direçãoPhysical activityMotor performanceMovement response timeAdolescentsChange of direction speedRelação entre coordenação motora e agilidade em jovens jogadores de futebolmasterThesis
