Dissertação (Mestrado em Música) - Escola de Música, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/60802This work, a master's degree research, aims to understand the life history and trajectory regarding five Artistic Initiation Course teachers who contributed in the past and still contribute to Music Education at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. The research deals with the training of music teachers and had as specific objectives such as: to acknowledge formative experiences provided by the foremetioned Iniciation Course; to analyze the guidelines of teacher training and its meanings on behalf of the participants; and to discuss the course as a formative device in the Music Degree Program at the university. The course completed 60 years promoting musical initiation for children and being a potential in the teacher training for monitors, volunteers and interns of the Music Courses at Escola de Música at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. To support this, the dissertation considered theorectical landmarks that dealt with current concepts on the subject of teacher training. Thus, the work considered authors such as Nóvoa (2007), Bellochio (2016), Gaulke (2017) and Abreu (2023); all of which support the importance of this project for teacher and future researchers responsible for teaching and building their knowledge as well as carrying out projects for the undergraduate course at the university. The research is qualitative and was developed from the (auto)biographical approach and life stories using a narrative interview script consisting of open-ended questions of a subjective nature that in turn, allowed further reflection on the subject. The teaching trajectory of the interviewed teachers was based on their singularities, reflections and formative choices, because, despite being the same space of action considered here, the experiences occurred at different times, where each one brought the richness of their unique stories, full of emoticons and experiences.
