As it was the initial core of the city, IPHAN classifies it as an Urban Historic Site. However, the Historic Site of Natal goes through the decline of its social, economic, cultural structures and its built environment. In addition to undergoing interventions that often mischaracterize and compromise the historicist aspect of the neighborhood, the trend towards population decline is also notable. This phenomenon is explained by the development of means of transport and communication, and also by the new demands of society that, consequently, change the way of living and occupying the city. Over time, the outskirts of the city were occupied more intensely, causing the emptying of its urban center. In this scenario, the present work aims to develop an architectural proposal for reuse for a building of heritage value in the Ribeira neighborhood, aiming at its preservation through a new use as an attraction for new users. Given the complexity of the theme, it was necessary, first, to build a theoretical-conceptual basis through bibliographical research, in addition to the study of related design references. Then, a diagnosis was made of the building chosen for intervention and its surroundings, as well as an analysis of its legal and environmental constraints and, based on the systematization of all this information, the project design process began.
