From this historiographical perspective, we pose the following question: What do Mathematics Education undergraduate students at UFRN and Basic Education teachers who teach mathematics think about SBEM/RN? To address this and other inquiries, our main objective was to analyze the opinions of these students and teachers regarding SBEM/RN. The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing both documentary analysis and questionnaires. The questionnaire was administered to three undergraduate classes in the Mathematics Education program at UFRN's Natal campus, with participation from 44 students. The results indicate that the students have little to no knowledge about SBEM/RN, showing limited understanding of the Brazilian Society of Mathematics Education and holding misconceptions about what constitutes a scientific society. This research is linked to the Professional Master's Program in Teaching Natural Sciences and Mathematics, specifically within the research line of History, Philosophy, and Sociology of Science in the Teaching of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. Consequently, it was necessary for the master's candidate to develop an Educational Product (EP). We created an Iconographic Book titled "SBEM/RN: A Possible History," using available materials such as donated photographs, internet images, and screenshots from websites discussing SBEM/RN. After completing the book, we applied the EP in Mathematics Education classes at UFRN's Natal campus, allowing students to evaluate, critique, and provide feedback on the product. The evaluation revealed that the 43 students from the three undergraduate Mathematics Education classes who participated in the questionnaire were unfamiliar with SBEM/RN and its purpose, though they expressed interest in learning more about it.
