To enable this integration and ensure communication between devices, it is necessary to have a network with low energy consumption, limited processing capacity, and memory. While this facilitates connectivity, it also brings new security challenges that must be addressed in order to preserve data integrity and reliability. This paper presents the implementation of symmetric encryption in the network layer of the RPL protocol, which is designed for low-power and lossy networks.
