How can artistic creation in theater collaborate in the processes of overcoming loss and pain? What theatricality emerges in the construction of a path of survival for a mother who lost her son? This work aims to analyze a theatrical scene and its process of artistic construction, created during the Degree Course in Theater (2018-2024), motivated by the crisis of the loss of a son, by its author. “Ma(terna)” is the result of using the scene as a strategy of self-affirmation to overcome pain, a possibility of constructing a public dialogue in which the maternal condition is presented from a dramatic perspective, which makes it possible to confront the tragic with theater and as theater.
