The objective is analyze the profile of these students as well as their challenges, advantages and learning successes. It is an investigative and descriptive research. It worked with a universe of 82 students who entered the Course of Education, the classes offered at 2012.2 and 2014.2 at the Polo Macau / RN. Were applied Structured questionnaires by electronic means, addressing questions about the students' profile, characteristics of family and job, as well as its link with education and public higher distance offered in the Polo Macau by UFRN. 27 student responses were obtained. We start from theoretical-methodological foundations that contribute to think the educational possibilities of educational technology (BELLONI, 2001; GOMEZ, 2004; Moore and KEARSLEY, 2013), and particularly, distance education of (LOBO NETO, 2001; DANTAS and RÊGO, 2011; FORMIGA, 2009). The results show that the profile of these students is a relatively young audience, some who have completed high school, but with a majority that has already completed another superior course. In addressing the challenges, benefits and successes of learning it is concluded that there are gaps that need to be met, especially in relation to visits to the pole and the time dedicated in the activities. The results provide key elements for the management of the course.
