It occurs with some frequency in individuals with a history of bronchial diseases or recurrent infections frame in the bronchial tree. These changes generate imbalance in the normal mucociliary clearance process, and consequently causes hypersecretion and changes of pulmonary function. His clinical features respiratory symptoms such as cough, expectoration of purulent long episodes and hemoptysis. Postural drainage is a technique that has great importance in helping to clean the airways, since, through it is possible to mobilize and facilitate expectoration of retained secretions in the bronchi and bronchioles that are damaged by the action of various bronchopulmonary diseases. And yet, applied correctly, can promote improved oxygenation and reduce the incidence of atelectasis. Objectives: To assess the contribution of postural drainage in individuals affected by bronchiectasis. Methods: We performed a literature review of studies published in national and international journals between 1985 and 2016. Conclusion: Postural drainage proved beneficial when used in bronchiectasis patients, however, for best results, all consulted literature suggest the use combined with other bronchial hygiene maneuvers.openAccessBronquiectasiaDrenagem PosturalFisioterapia DesobstrutivaEfeitos da Drenagem Postural em Pacientes com BronquiectasiaEffects of Postural Drainage in Patients with BronchiectasispostGraduateThesis
