It was necessary to establish four specific objectives in order to achieve the General Objective. The theoretical framework, which was applied to support this objective, included the following key-constructs: i) the Capacity to Innovate; ii) the Innovativeness System; iii) Intra-organizational Innovation; iv) the Strategic Stage to Competitive Advantage; and v) Organizational Change. There is a chapter on the propositional model for the study design, as well as a chapter on methodology, which, in this work, is a quantitative investigation, by proposing, as a requirement, the use of descriptive statistics and multivariate statistics, with an exploratory factor analysis and a confirmatory factor analysis, the latter with Structural Equation Modeling, with Partial Least Squares (SEM/PLS). The field of study was the city of Serra Talhada-PE, for the determination of the sample. The field research occurred in the period from April to September 2020, a period that occurred during the Pandemic of COVID-19. Because of this, the survey application strategy was changed from face-to-face to virtual, so that some entrepreneurs, managers and other collaborators could answer the survey. The means of data collection was via technological resources (E-mail, Facebook Business, LinkedIn, Messenger, and WhatsApp). A literature review was also necessary, in order to identify the works (among articles and books) that could be selected to strengthen the theoretical basis, consistent with the study. We must highlight the support for this thesis research and, consequently, its completion, by the financial aid from FACEPE – Fundação de Amparo à Ciência do Estado de Pernambuco, which was partially able to guarantee a stage for the Doctoral Internship in the training institution. It was concluded that all indicators were in conformity with the statistical criteria adopted and demonstrated consistency to the quantitative results presented. Furthermore, the Dissertation brought original and innovative contributions to Organizational Studies, regarding: i) to the originality of the formation and identification of Exogenous (the Organizational Innovativeness System) and Endogenous (Intraorganizational Innovation) Groups of Variables - both elaborated exclusively for the Dissertation; ii) to the confirmation that such groups of variables ratified the existence of Sustained Competitive Advantage, by ruling out Transitory Competitive Advantage, because there was no Organizational Change in the period, based on the results; iii) the originality of the creation of the 'Analytical Model of Innovation' (AMI), resulting from the Latent Variable Groups; and iv) the originality of the rupture of some theoretical assumptions, by deconstructing what had been accepted by Organizational Studies, in the rejection of the causal relationship that occurred between some paths, based on one of the Hypotheses proposed.
