As a measure to promote the continuity of academic activities, the Ministry of Education instituted, through an ordinance, Emergency Remote Teaching (ERE), whose implementation process, like in several countries, was not carried out in an adequately planned manner. The general objective of this study was to evaluate the teaching and learning process of remote classes, from the perspective of professors of the Accounting Sciences Course at HEIs in Natal/RN. Therefore, it was intended to develop an exploratory study, of a qualitative nature, through a survey, using a semi-structured interview in a sample composed of 38 professors from HEIs in RN, seeking to apprehend the professors' perception regarding the limiting and promoting factors in the implementation of the ERE and its contribution to post-pandemic teaching and learning. Analyzing the teaching-learning process in the context of the ERE was necessary, in the midst of an unknown context, the Pandemic, which led HEIs to adapt to a remote model in order to continue the teaching of face-to-face courses.
