The present work aimed to evaluate the biomass production of Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu, under increasing doses of organic compound. The experimental design adopted in this work was in 4 blocks, presenting a repetition of each treatment per block. The experimental units consisted of vessels with 17 dm3 capacity. Six treatments with 5 increasing doses of organic compound were used along with a control treatment. In the treatments that presented organic compost, doses of 420 were applied; 850; 1270; 1690; 1900 g vase-1 of organic compost and a control treatment with soil only and without fertilization. Marandu grass was harvested 60 days after sowing, where the evaluated variables were leaf dry matter (MSF), stem dry matter (MSC), total dry matter (MST) and plant height. The treatments with doses of organic compost presented significant difference in relation to the control in the variables height, production MSF, MSC and MST, presenting better results in the treatment with the highest dose of organic compost.Adubo orgânico. planta forrageira. nutrição de plantas. matéria seca.Organic fertilizers. forage plant. plant nutrition. biomass.Produção de biomassa de Brachiaria brizantha cv.
