With the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, fairs and stallholders suffered great difficulties, as social distancing and the closure of fairs, required by the context of the health crisis, pushed consumers away and had negative consequences for these traders. In this context, this article aims to analyze the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on fruit/vegetable vendors in the city of Currais Novos-RN. Therefore, the methodology used was based on bibliographical research. A quali-quanti approach and information through interviews with 130 fruit and vegetable marketers were used. The results revealed a series of difficulties faced by merchants arising from the new pandemic context. The first was the reduction in sales and revenue. As a consequence, there was a reduction in the family income of these traders. This fact was worrying because, for some of these sellers, the fair is the only source of income. Although online sales and deliveries via delivery have been a strategy for some of these stallholders to continue selling their products, this was not the reality for all of them, as many remained with their stalls completely closed when the Municipal Decree suspended the fair operation.
