Avaliação da composição corporal de praticantes de ballet clássico: comparação entre diferentes equações preditivas de antropometria. 2018. 50f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Nutrição) – Curso de Nutrição, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2018.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/40155Anthropometry is widely used in the monitoring of body composition in athletes. It is presented as a viable and simple method in the estimation of fat mass (FM) and fat free mass (FFM), being affordable. However, the estimation of FM and FFM through the anthropometric means, depends on the use of predictive equations validated for this method. In the literature can be found several predictive equations, developed and validated for different populations. This study aimed to identify the body composition of classical ballet practitioners, from 8 predictive equations of anthropometry. A cross-sectional study was carried out from 2016 to 2018, in which 37 classical intermediate / advanced female dancers were evaluated. To test if the equations used generated different MG results, ANOVA followed by Tukey's post-test was used. Values of p less than 0.05 were considered significant. The results showed that the equations of Guedes (1985) and Jackson and Pollock (1975) obtained similar results among themselves, as did the equations of Petroski (1995), Sloan (1962) and Slaugther (1988). However, the other equations studied did not obtain similar results among themselves. From the anthropometric equations evaluated, an average percentage of 27.11 (0.32)% FM among the dancers was obtained. In conclusion, without the values of the folds and perimeter satisfying an equation, another equation that has similarity in the results (p <0.05) can be used without being a responsibility in the results.openAccessAttribution 3.0https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/“equações preditivas”, “antropometria”, “composição corporal”, e “dançarinas de ballet”Avaliação da composição corporal entre praticantes de Ballet clássico: comparação entre diferentes equações preditivas de antropometriabachelorThesis
