To achieve this objective, the following methodological procedures were used: 1 - bibliographical research, using two analytical categories: the first focus on science and technology and the second on smart cities; 2 – documentary research, through documents of the city of Parnamirim; 3 – the photographic survey of the analyzed public equipment; and 4 – the application of a questionnaire to understand the perception of equipment users about the internet offered in the square. The results shows that the Wi-Fi networks offered by the city hall have a certain quality from the point of view of internet speed, being even well evaluated by the population that uses them, but the adherence to the program by the population has not been effective, given that out of 175 people interviewed, only 35 use the city hall's Wi-Fi network. With the analysis of the data, one of the established conclusions was that the city hall needs to improve certain structural aspects of public facilities, such as the increase in the number of benches and afforestation, in addition, it is necessary for the public power to invest more in publicizing the program for the population.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Internet.
