In this regard, this work does a study of alternatives to optimize this dilution and proposes tangible actions to alocate nitrate levels within safe limits for human health, assessing nitrate levels in distributed water. For this, a quantitative research of nitrate was conducted for the district between 2019 and 2021 in collaboration with CAERN and scenarios for water dilution were drawed. From the presented scenarios, the scenario 03 showcasing the deactivation of “tubular water wells” 07, 23, 29, and 33 and the substitution of their output by equal value and which had nitrate level equal to 1mg/l, was the best way presented, as there is no excess output resulting form dilution in the proposed areas. The dilution strategy is effective in the short, medium, and long term, but it does not prevent other “tubular water wells” that supply the region from having high nitrate levels, requiring other combined solutions to reduce, over time, the nitrate levels, such as the implementation and effective operation of a sewage system.
