From a semantic point of view, although there is no consensus on a specific terminology, innovation can be presented as the transformation caused in something so that it passes from one state to another that is considered more beneficial. With this in mind, the use of innovation as a tool for improvement, whether incremental or radical, is notable. Such improvement finds significant support within the State, which is under strong social pressure to provide more efficient services. Today, this context, strongly influenced by modern globalization, induces Public Administration to innovate to adapt to the demands of an increasingly connected and interdependent world. This innovation, in turn, can present challenges related to the organizational environment, which may contain obstacles and facilitators in its scope. The focus of this paper is to analyze the innovations implemented within the scope of the Regional Electoral Court of Rio Grande do Norte, an entity of the indirect public administration of the Federal Judiciary Branch that is the object of study of this monograph, in order to determine which challenges to innovation are encountered in said entity. To this end, the innovations implemented by the TRE/RN were analyzed through an exploratory research with a qualitative approach carried out on documentary sources contained in its official website in order to make a general survey of the innovations implemented.
