The research uses a qualitative approach, with a case study, and uses semi-structured interviews as a data collection instrument. Based on my musical experience, where I was a participant and began my musical studies in a social project orchestra, the research brings a feeling of affection and emotion, because music presents itself not only as teaching an instrument, but also as a transformative experience that opened horizons and brought a new perspective on life. As a result, I conclude that social orchestras promote a strengthening of the musical and personal identity of the interviewees, in addition to providing a sense of belonging, acceptance, and a construction of a vision for the future.
