The research explores conceptions of childhood and the relationship between media and child development, based on the theories of Vygotsky and Piaget. The methodological investigation included a bibliographic review, semi-structured qualitative interviews, and analysis of pedagogical practices in the classroom. The results showed that excessive screen time can harm children's cognitive, social, and emotional development. However, when technology is used in a controlled and supervised manner, it can provide benefits for learning. The article highlights the importance of creating stimulating and interactive environments, where the use of educational media is guided and mediated by adults.
