2019. 64f. Dissertação (Mestrado em Engenharia Elétrica e de Computação) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/jspui/handle/123456789/28130The exponential growth in the use of photovoltaic solar energy makes that the question of the performance of photovoltaic modules connected to the grid is extremely relevantsince compared to other energy sources its efficiency is relatively low (around 18%). In addition, the partial shading has a drastic impact on the production of electrical energy from a photovoltaic system and among the main studies to solve the partial shading problem, the most important are: the connections of the bypass diodes, the technology of the bypass diodes and the maximum power point tracking. The partial shading refers to the different levels of irradiance along a photovoltaic module, the bypass diode refers to the device capable of detecting the partial shading and creating a new path for the current flow, reducing module losses by hot spots and the maximum power point tracking refers to maximum power point tracking according to the local parameters of irradiance and ambient temperature. In this work, a current 72-cell photovoltaic module will be modeled and simulated with a modern smart bypass diode configuration. In order to verify the performance of the module, partial shading will be simulated and, in parallel, will be used the simplest maximum power point tracking technique: perturb & observe, but modified with adaptive step and clustering.
