In health students, there may be a depersonalization of the profession, with an increase in empathy and professionalism, with the potential to harm the patient in health care. Objective: To investigate the prevalence of academic burnout and perceived stress among university health students. Methods: Cross-sectional study, carried out by filling out online instruments containing questions about sociodemographic data, perceived stress and academic burnout, during May and June of 2022. 126 students from the nursing, physiotherapy and nutrition course at UFRN/FACISA were included. Results: 126 undergraduates participated in the study, in the nursing, physiotherapy and nutrition courses. Moderate levels of stress and high levels of deprivation in rest time, sleep time and quality were observed in all courses. Conclusion: Burnout syndrome and high levels of stress can start at university and lead to mental and psychological illness resulting from adverse conditions related to work.
