Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive, and quantitative study conducted in a university hospital. The study included 66 parturients with an indication for vaginal delivery. Sociodemographic, clinical, and obstetric information was collected through interviews and medical record reviews. Axillary moisture measurement was performed using the SkinUp device, and the prevalence of hydration states was calculated. Pearson's chi-square test was used to examine the relationship between the delivery method and the hydration status of the parturients. Results: The participants had a mean age of 26.33 ± 5.86 years and 39.35 ± 1.27 weeks of gestation. Among the 66 parturients evaluated, nearly one-third (n = 18) were classified as dehydrated, corresponding to a dehydration prevalence of 27.3%. Less than half of the parturients (42.4%, n = 28) were classified as adequately hydrated. Most parturients had vaginal deliveries (66.7%), and 25 (37.9%) received intravenous hydration; however, no associations were identified between these variables and hydration status (p > 0.005). Conclusion: Dehydration was a common condition among the evaluated parturients, highlighting the importance of monitoring hydration status during labor. These findings emphasize the need for more effective strategies to ensure adequate hydration, aiming to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.Attribution-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/3.0/br/Trabalho de partoHidrataçãoUmidade axilarHidratação venosaAvaliação do estado de hidratação durante o trabalho de partoAssessment of hydration status during laborbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::NUTRICAO
