Among the various changes that the disease causes is heart failure that impacts directly on the lives of chagasic patients who have their compromised respiratory function and quality of life. Objective: perform a literature review to examine disordered breathing in patients with Chagas disease. Methods: We performed through a literature review of exploratory and descriptive, based on scientific research and online bibliographic database in the period from March to April of this year. Results: 15 articles were selected in English and Portuguese, but 4 were used for discussion of the work as it had specific content. Changes in inspiratory muscle strength is not directly connected will Chagas cardiomyopathy. However, the changes caused in functional capacity, was only found in smokers and as exercise intolerance, there is no commitment to their realization. Conclusion: most significant changes in cardiorespiratory the Chagas disease are connected to associated lung diseases, so that the disease itself is not capable of producing substantial damage to the conditioning of patients evaluated.
