Primary Health Care comes as matrix support with the aim of expanding the possibilities of comprehensive care for these people in psychological distress, as well as their families; based on work organized according to the Primary Health Care model and through community actions that favor and strengthen their social inclusion in the territory where they live and work. In this way, Ordinance 198/2004 on the National Policy for Permanent Education in Health, from the Ministry of Health, appears as a strategy of the brazilian Unified Health System established with the objective of training and developing health workers, aiming to reorganize the educational process of professionals who make up the Unified Health System network, through reflection on individual and joint practices, enabling a democratic space for participation of professionals and society as a whole. In this sense, this research aimed to build an educational technology, in mental health, for Primary Care Professionals Team. The Convergent Care Research with a qualitative approach was carried out in the municipality of Vera Cruz in Greater Natal. Data collection was carried out in April 2024 with the participation of a total of 20 professionals, through individual interviews with a semi-structured questionnaire, which made it possible to map professionals' knowledge about mental health care in Primary Health Care. The steps corresponding to the Convergent Care Research were respected, following all ethical principles regarding research with humans. To organize and process the data obtained, the Altas Ti®️ software was used. The results obtained through this research made it possible to identify the gaps that exist in mental health care practices. Among the gaps, the lack of knowledge about mental health as well as the difficulty in dealing with the patient stood out. The study enabled the creation of an innovative educational strategy, created with professionals, according to their limitations, taking into account Paulo Freire's precepts, about education with a critical, humanized and questioning vision, where the learner has a place to speak.
