Method: This is an exploratory descriptive research carried out between March 2020 and March 2021. Data were collected through epidemiological bulletins published on social networks of the Municipal Health Department of Santa Cruz, a religious tourist center in Rio Grande do North. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the scientific literature on the subject Results: There was a higher prevalence of deaths in females (57%), greater prevalence of symptoms of fever, dry cough, respiratory distress, cough, dyspnea, diarrhea and headache; regarding comorbidities, hypertension was predominant, followed by diabetes; the urban area predominated with 88% of deaths, 54% of deaths were not confirmed by exams. Conclusion: Knowing the epidemiological profile of the city can support actions to fight the pandemic.
