Estudos de melhoria da aerodinâmica do Northrop F-5 através da utilização de proporção áurea. Orientador: Dino Lincoln Figuerôa. 2019. 51 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Design) - Departamente de Design, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/47397The Golden Ratio is a theme approached in several areas regarding the optimization of systems that work integrated with nature. Considering that aircraft are mechanisms that are in direct contact with nature through the atmosphere, this research verifies the efficiency of applying the Golden Ratio in aircraft design. Considering as parameters of verification the criteria of Support and Drag of the wing. To undertake this research, the F-5E Tiger II fighter aircraft design was chosen for convenience. Model designed in the 1950s and still in full operation. Its extended life cycle demonstrates an optimized design. The present investigation verified the aforementioned aerodynamic parameters in the aircraft with and without the Golden Ratio. For this, a redesign of the aircraft under study was performed, scaling it to this proportion using Fusion 360 software. Tests performed on virtual wind tunnels using ANSYS software demonstrated that the use of the Golden Ratio increased the Sustainability by 140 % and reduced drag by 9.95%. At the end of the research, the C-27 Pandion is presented as a result, a conceptual design of what the F-5E Tiger II fighter would look like within the Golden Ratio.
