In methodological terms, the research develops through analysis of Location Quotient and the instrumental of Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA), highlighting the statistics of spatial autocorrelation Moran's I and Local Moran in an attempt to identify existing industrial clusters in Natal territory. Although the manufacturing industry sector receive incentives for industrial development programs, such as the Support Program of Rio Grande do Norte Industrial Development (PROADI), the results showed that during the two study periods, the possible spillover expected between neighboring areas proved weak and concentrated in a few areas, revealing that there is a reduced influence on the formal employment in the manufacturing industry in the state.
