Monografia (Graduação em Biomedicina) - Centro de Biociências, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2016.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/43264Sporotrichosis is a zoonotic disease caused by the dimorphic fungus Sporothrix schenckii. This infection is a cutaneous or subcutaneously mycosis, of subacute or chronic evolution. This fungus lives in soil in association with plant debris and defiles in several species of animals. The present study aimed to contribute to the knowledge about sporotrichosis according to the literature, through its distribution in several Brazilian regions, emphasizing mainly where there were large outbreaks of this disease. Therefore, literature surveys were made through electronic consultations to Virtual Database (SciELO, PubMed, LILACS and Capes) and several publications were selected and analyzed among different periods seeking recent works of emergent zoonotics cases on Brazil. The knowledge of this mycosis in clinical, epidemiological, laboratorial and therapeutic aspects is of utmost importance for the medical area showing more detailed analysis of how the disease behaves.openAccessEsporotricose humanaHuman sporotrichosisSporothrix schenckiiSporothrix schenckiiFungo dimórficoDimorphic fungusEsporotricose humana no Brasil: casos recentes de uma zoonose epidêmica emergentebachelorThesis
