The study of this Feast in the school space contributes, in accordance with Federal Law No.10,639/03, for the valorization and strengthening of the Afro-Brazilian identity, in addition to promoting the fight against racial discrimination, through the teaching of local History. Regarding the theoretical-methodological support, I point out the following contributions of, Roger Chartier. With the aim of creating an empowering education that combats racial discrimination at school, I cite authors who have addressed this issue and contributed to promoting ruptures with a model of historical education centered on Eurocentric values. In this sense, I value the contributions of Kabenguele Munanga and Sílvio de Almeida, who are fundamental to understanding the role of black people in Brazilian history. This research also allowed for the analysis of various historical sources, such as: written records about the Rosário Festival (documents found at the Parish of Nossa Senhora do Ó, academic production and local literature); interviews conducted with the school community and members of the Brotherhood of the Blacks of the Rosário; documentaries and reports found in information channels of the Serra-negrense community (newspapers and magazines).
