It identifies gaps in the curricula of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The methodology employed in this study is descriptive research, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative characteristics. The sample consisted of 73 respondents, and data collection was conducted through an electronic questionnaire using the Google Forms platform. The questionnaire included three sections with 15 questions related to the accountant’s profile, based on a 5-point Likert scale, covering aspects of their performance in the job market, as well as the alignment of HEIs’ curricula with market demands. In conclusion, respondents expressed divided opinions, both regarding adaptation and the mastery of basic or specific accounting knowledge.
