As these are diseases that have no cure, they culminate in continuous emotional suffering, requiring the individual to constantly readapt to living with the condition. In order to give voice and reliability to people living with fibromyalgia, who, in addition to the obstacles of a chronic condition, also have to overcome the challenge of invisibility, this study is a qualitative research project, using a snowball approach and ethnography as its method and epistemological orientation. It also aimed to understand the social experience of living with fibromyalgia as a woman, considering her perspective as a user of Primary Care in the Unified Health System. In this sense, it was possible to conclude that the lack of physical signs makes it difficult to recognize the disease socially, leading to the suffering being discredited. In this context, Primary Care stands out as an essential space for welcoming, listening and close care, favoring understanding and validation of the diagnosis.pt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/doenças crônicasfibromialgiaAtenção Primária à Saúdeprocesso saúde-doença.A reconstrução de si na vida de uma mulher com fibromialgia: uma análise social sobre dor e cuidadoThe reconstruction of the self in the life of a woman with ffibromyalgia: a social analysis of pain and carebachelorThesis
