Desenvolvimento e caracterização de nanoemulsão de óleo de canola contendo mirceno com potencial antimicrobiano e antioxidante. Orientador: Arnóbio Antônio da Silva Júnior. 2023. 57 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Farmácia) - Departamento de Farmácia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/56305With the increase in life expectancy of the world population and the growth in the number of elderly people, cases of skin lesions are becoming increasingly frequent. One of the main factors that worsens this clinical picture and prolongs the healing time of wounds is local bacterial infection, making effective treatment necessary for these situations. However, the lack of products with scientifically validated efficacy makes the treatment of these injuries difficult. In this context, the use of vegetable oils, which have intrinsic antibacterial and healing properties, appears to be a promising alternative for treating wounds, enhancing the effectiveness of active ingredients that can act synergistically. Canola vegetable oil has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory activity and accelerates tissue healing and regeneration, while myrcene is a terpene that has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant potential. The objective of this study was to develop nanoemulsions (NEs) based on canola oil to incorporate myrcene and analyze its physicochemical characteristics. The formulations were obtained using low shear techniques at room temperature, carrying out variation tests to establish the best concentrations of canola oil and Tween80 and Span80 surfactants. The NEs containing 2.5% canola oil and 0.5% myrcene obtained at the end of the optimization study had a droplet size of approximately 75 nm; polydispersity index of 0.217; zeta potential of - 16.0 mV and pH of 5.4. The formulation proved to be stable throughout the stability study (28 days), maintaining its homogeneous macroscopic appearance and a monomodal profile of droplet diameter distribution. The formulation obtained shows promise and has the potential to be tested in relation to its antimicrobial and antioxidant activity.CC0 1.0 Universalhttp://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/Sistema de liberaçãoNanoemulsãoAntimicrobianoAntioxidanteDesenvolvimento e caracterização de nanoemulsão de óleo de canola contendo mirceno com potencial antimicrobiano e antioxidanteDevelopment and characterization of canola oil nanoemulsion containing myrcene with antimicrobial and antioxidant potentialbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::FARMACIA
