Method: uses bibliographic, documentary, exploratory, descriptive research with a qualitative approach as a methodology, through the application of a case study on the Steam platform. Result: As practices of information representation to be carried out by information professionals in these environments, it was possible to identify as suggestions: registration of games; cataloging, classification and indexing of these information resources; development of terminological control instruments in these environments, in special ontologies; preparation of summaries and analyses, for example.
