Faced with several inclusive policies, the Institutional Children’s Home is a progress made over the years, which aims for the return of the child to its original community bond, reintegrating the young people into society. The growth of the child population living in the streets of Brazil is noteworthy, characterizing a serious social problem for the society and its managers regarding the Right to the City. Therefore, a resolution was launched in 2016 creating a new classification of the Institutional Home specifically for children living in streets, called Joint Resolution CNAS/CONANDA Nº 1. This situation boosted the purpose of this project, taking into consideration the unsatisfactory and inadequate conditions of the spaces in general, where the institutional care is inserted, in most cases houses adapted for this purpose, jeopardizing the use of the institution's uses. Under these circumstances, it is proposed an architecture technical design of an Institutional Children’s Home in a “Casa-Lar” type, a category that stands out in the attempt to recreate a family routine in its interior, aiming to provide decent living conditions and development for its users. Accordingly, the goal is to create a space with a playful and facilitating character for the child's growth, using concepts of Environmental Psychology and Spatial Perception together with certain elements of the conceptualization of Sensory Architecture. The research took place through studies of theoretical and empirical background, supported by project and conceptual references for the development of the project, linked to visits in places with similar use and functionality of the space in evidence. At this stage, the project proposal evolved from practical observations of the legal, environmental and physical conditions surrounding the study location, relying on the determination of the program and flows to meet the equipment demand. For then, the concept and environment of the architectural project were traced and later the formal and spatial solution coherent and appropriate with the use in question.
