The issues that deserve attention are its high volumes and a complexity of composition. The graph of such showcase data volumes is not subject to environmental control and has been irreversible to the marine environment with high disposal costs. In this thesis were carried out studies on the adsorption of metals present in the effluent as a function of the contact time and the mass of the zeolite A adsorbent, the optimum time was of 4h, and the mass was of 0.3g, with results inferior to the maximum values allowed by the resolutions 357 and 430 of CONAMA; later the treatments were carried out in different materials such as zeolites, Aluminas and HDL. Highlight for zeolites A, ɣAl2O3 and calcined HDL, with results of 50% to 99% removal of cations and anions simultaneously; and finally the materials zeolite A, HDL and a composite material based on zeolite A/LDH, were synthesized and were used in the simultaneous treatment of cations and anions of the actual effluent produced from petroleum. The material syntheses were carried out at room temperature in only 7 hours; from the results obtained after different treatment modes of the effluent were obtained 80 to 100% removal for the cations and from 56 to 100% for the anions. These values are extremely satisfactory considering the complexity of the matrix, and the concentrations of cations and anions that are in the range of mg L-1 to μg L-1, leaving the treatment even more difficult.
