Financial education is the key to a better quality of life, thus learning to have control over your finances and to consume more consciously. It is increasingly necessary to bring discussions about finance and its authorities to the population based on choices made throughout life. There are different media and spaces that encourage discussions in the field of Financial Education (PE) and mathematics education is certainly a fruitful field for this. In the daily life of the school, one of the main resources used by teachers and students are textbooks, which, in our view, are also promoters of discussions on School Financial Education (EFE). In this context, in our research, we sought to analyze a collection of mathematics textbooks from the last years of basic education approved in the PNLD (2017), which are used in elementary education in the municipality of Caicó-RN, in search of activities that have the potential to work on financial education. We analyzed the EFE activities present in the books of the chosen selection, in addition, we carried out an analysis of the teacher's manual, in order to observe the foreseen suggestions, believing that they constitute an important element of guidance for the teacher.
