Therefore, this work aims to analyze some of the causes of difficulties in mathematics learning that high school students present. To this end, we have, among other questions, the following research question: what are the possible causes of the difficulties of high school students in mathematics, and what contributions can the practices developed in teaching projects bring to help students with these difficulties? The specific objectives that guided our study are to understand from the student's point of view how he interprets difficulties in mathematics, and proposes a practical intervention using resources that can help students' mathematical learning in the classroom. In the construction of the data, a questionnaire was applied to 50 high school students from the State School in Full Time José Augusto (EETIJA) in the city of Caicó - RN.
