The Pap smear is responsible for around 80% of early detection, but there is low adherence to the test, related to cultural, social, psychological and economic factors that affect timely detection and reduced mortality from this cancer. Objective: To analyze the use of music therapy and aromatherapy in performing oncotic cytology. Methodology: This is a descriptive study, with an exploratory nature and a qualitative approach. Held in the municipality of São José do Seridó - RN from July to October 2023. The age group included were women aged 18 to 64, with the sample consisting of 15 women. Data collection was carried out through a semi-structured interview. The information obtained was analyzed using Badin content. Results: 15 women participated in the study, aged between 21 and 63 years. The research results are divided into two categories: women's feelings related to taking the preventive exam; participants' perception of collection using the Integrative and Complementary Practices used in the study. Participants, despite knowing the importance of taking the exam periodically, due to various factors do not perform as recommended. Final considerations: Feelings such as shame and tension are factors that influence adherence to preventive exams and interfere with the search for services.
