As one of the recent innovative initiatives implemented by several public administrations, there are the Public Sector Innovation Laboratories (LISP), which are understood as structures aimed at creating modern and creative solutions for the public sector. Considering this reality, the present research has as main objective to elaborate an updated panorama regarding the innovation laboratories in the Brazilian public administration, emphasizing three powers (Executive, Legislative and Judiciary), in the three spheres (Federal, State and Municipal, in the latter emphasizing the Brazilian capitals). In order to know the number of innovation laboratories operating in the organizations that are part of the scope of the research, requests were sent through the Law on Access to Information (LAI). After this procedure, online questionnaires were applied that systematize LISP experiences in Brazil in light of the context in which these structures were created and the characteristics of their activities. There were 167 LISP implemented in the public sector, a number found via LAI and connection networks, of which only 95 showed forms of contact, and only 65 of the 95 answered the questionnaire (68%). As a general result of the research, there is an opportunity to produce a comparative panorama that comprises a series of information about the Innovation Laboratories in the Public Sector in Brazil, allowing to assist governments in the development of strategies and solutions that contribute to innovation in the resolution of public problems, as well as enabling greater internal development between laboratories through connections.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Inovação da administração pública.
