In most cases of type 2 DM, insulin use is not initiated immediately after diagnosis, but may be necessary with disease progression or in situations of severe metabolic decompensation. Methodology: Observational, analytical and descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, carried out with type 2 diabetic individuals, regularly using insulin, linked to the basic health unit of the Center, in Santa Cruz/RN, with a minimum age of 18 years, of both sexes. Individuals who withdrew at any stage of the research, who did not approve the TCLE and women with gestational diabetes were excluded. The instruments used for data collection were: evaluation form and DQOL-Brazil quality of life questionnaire. Statistical analysis presented a significance level of 95%, using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, the Mann Whitney test and the Spearman brightness test. Descriptive statistics present the values in mean (standard deviation), median (interquartile range) and absolute (relative) frequency. Results: A sample of 42 users was obtained, where the majority were women (76.7%), aged 65 years or older (62.5%), self-declared brown race (42.9%), with elementary education (54.8%), income of up to 2 minimum wages (73.8%), history of smoking (52.4%), sedentary (33.3%), without nutritional monitoring (90.5%), without difficulties in insulin administration (59.5%), where 85.7% had comorbidities and 52.4% had complications related to diabetes. There were no statistically significant differences in quality of life between the sexes and the total sample, nor correlations between quality of life and the time of diagnosis of the disease and the time of insulin use. Conclusion: Most individuals presented a clinical profile composed of elderly, brown-skinned women, with low education, a history of smoking, sedentary, hypertensive, with eating habits without nutritional guidance, without difficulties in insulin administration and with present complications. In addition, no significant impacts of diabetes on the quality of life of the sample studied were identified.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Diabetes MellitusQualidade de vida relacionada à saúdeAtenção Primária à saúdeFisioterapiaDiabetes MellitusHealth-related quality of lifePrimary health carePhysiotherapyAnálise do perfil da qualidade de vida em indivíduos diabéticos insulinodependentes na atenção primária à saúdeAnalysis of the quality of life profile in insulin-dependent diabetic individuals in primary health carebachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
