The postpartum period is the phase that represents a situation of intense transition in the lives of these women, it is when physiological adjustments, recovery and adaptation to the transformations undergone by the female organism in its pregnant state occur. In addition to the physiological changes that the body goes through at this stage of life, there is interference from psychological, emotional, behavioral and economic aspects. Such applied factors make it possible for the woman to be also vulnerable to the most diverse conditions during her pregnancy. With this in mind, this work aimed to build and validate an educational booklet to promote the mental health of pregnant and puerperal women, in order to promote mental health through health education. This is a study with a methodological approach, this type of study aims to develop, validate and evaluate instruments and research techniques, providing the development of a reliable instrument that can later be used by other researchers. The development of this study took place in the following stages: construction of an educational booklet for pregnant and postpartum women on mental health and validation of the educational material by expert judges. Seven judges participated in the study, five female (80%) and two male (20%), through the inclusion criteria: Being a professional specialist in Primary Care or Maternal and Child Health, graduates of the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences of Rio Grande do Norte. The judges showed a positive evaluation of the booklet and indicated the relevance of the educational material. The suggestions were included and the educational booklet was revised until the final version.
