In addition, it questions whether the Biblioteca Digital de Monografias is in line with the principles and guidelines that address the subject. The present study has as general objective, to analyze the Biblioteca Digital de Monografias, through the application of the Information Architecture method. Its specific objectives are: To identify the favorable and unfavorable elements on the portal of the Biblioteca Digital de Monografias at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, with regard to Information Architecture; Discuss the inconsistencies of the portal by conducting na analysis based on the existing principles and guidelines on Information Architecture; and Suggest improvements for the reformulation of the portal of the Biblioteca Digital de Monografias of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, in relation to Information Architecture. This work is relevant to the area of Information Science, because it contributes to the development of guidelines for the repository of Higher Education Institutions. This in turn serves as a basis for professionals working at the Biblioteca Digital de Monografias to apply improvements to the portal through the implementation of this proposed project. The research uses a methodology with a qualitative focus, using five criteria distributed in three dimensions: context, contente and users. Therefore, it analyzes the data with a detailed description of the positive and / or negative points, as well as presents suggestions for improvements regarding the criteria defined in the Information Architecture.
