At the same time, Distributed Generation (DG) units that employ RES have gained momentum in recent years due to tax reductions and rising electricity prices, in addition to the promotion policies implemented by public administration. However, the increase in the number of these systems connected to low voltage distribution networks has severely impacted the quality of the distribution systems' power. Most DG systems use photovoltaic (PV) systems as their source, due to their low cost, ease of installation, and maintenance. In this context, this work examines the effects on the power quality in the electrical installations of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), resulting from the connection of three PV systems totaling 350 kWp to the low voltage distribution network. The evaluation is based on indicators obtained experimentally using the HIOKI PW 3198 power quality analyzer, including frequency, voltage and current harmonics, voltage imbalances, overvoltage/undervoltage, power factor, and voltage fluctuation (flicker).
